What are Functional Neurological Disorders?
Functional Neurological Disorders, or neuro-functional disorders or TNF, are a neurological disease in which voluntary messages between the brain and the body are made difficult, if not impossible.
The symptoms of TNF are numerous and can vary from person to person. But the most common are:
– motor difficulties: loss of walking; loss of use of one or more members
– cognitive difficulties: mental fog; disorders of concentration, memorization
– non-epileptic seizures (also called CNEP)
– language difficulties
– involuntary movements
